Summary: French actress, novelist, and granddaughter of novelist and Nobel literature laureate Francois Mauriac who made her cinema debut at the age of 18 playing Marie, the lead character in Robert Bresson's celebrated 1966 film Au Hasard Balthazar and went on to appear in several of Jean-Luc Godard's films, among them La Chinoise, Week End, and One Plus One, who published more than a dozen novels in her later years, including 2015's Un an apres about her relationship with Godard to whom she married from 1967 to 1979 and whose memoir was adapted into the 2017 film Redoubtable.
