Jack C. Taylor
businessman and founder of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car who started a
leasing company with seven cars and built it into Enterprise after he
founded Executive Leasing in 1957 at a Cadillac dealership in St.
Louis, Missouri where he was a salesman renting cars to customers whose
own vehicles were in the shop but the business eventually grew into
Enterprise, which differed from competitors by allowing people to pick
up and drop off cars away airports, who was a U.S. Navy pilot in World
War II and twice received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
