Chinese-American neuroscientist and professor of psychology at the University of Southern California who had taught in the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences department when he joined the USC faculty in 2001 and was an expert in the field of perception, vision and vision cognition, and who also served as co-director of the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center, which he helped found in 2005.
