Italian city councilor and adviser to the Amatrice section of the non-profit volunteer organization Association of Voluntary Italian Blood Donors (AVIS) in central Italy who was among one of more than 150 people reported missing and presumed dead following the devastating August 2016 Central Italy earthquake that killed almost 300 people and injured over 400 others including his youngest daughter Martina Ciancaglioni when a powerful 6.2-magnitude quake struck central Italy that flattened a string of remote mountainside villages and caused extensive damages of numerous buildings in the historic town of Amatrice, Italy close to the epicentre in an area near the borders of the Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, and Marche regions, in which the seismic aftershocks from the disaster was the worst deadliest earthquake to strike Italy in 30 years since 2009.
