Vietnamese writer and poet who became a refugee in America after the fall of Saigon and worked to preserved the literary heritage of his homeland, but who was the author of the exhaustive 1999 collection Van Hoc Mien Nam, Tong Quan, an overview of South Vietnamese literature from 1954 to 1975 that featured the work of more than 200 Vietnamese authors and documented the period's artistic and literary movements.
