Summary: British stock exchange clerk who almost single-handedly saved more than 650 Jewish Czechoslovakian children from the Holocaust in 1938 when he arranged trains to carry children from Nazi-occupied Prague to Britain battling bureaucracy at both ends and saving them from almost certain death, then kept quiet about his exploits for 50 years and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 2003 and honored in the Czech Republic, where he received that country's highest state honor, the Order of the White Lion, in 2014.
