Summary: life insurance salesman whose conviction and almost 30-year imprisonment for the contract killing of his 42-year-old wife Maria Marshall inspired the Joe McGinniss book Blind Faith and a TV movie of the same title when he was convicted of hiring men to kill his wife in 1984 (he had a mistress at the time), and whose death sentence was changed to life imprisonment in 2006 just two years after a federal court ruled that he had been inadequately represented by counsel during his original sentencing.
