Rev. William J. Sullivan
priest and the longest-serving president of Seattle University from
1976 to 1996 who was credited with building the modern campus in
Seattle, bringing the law school to campus, building the Chapel of St.
Ignatius, and founding the School of Theology & Ministry, among
other accomplishments but who also served for 12 years as the school's
chancellor before retiring in 2009 and returning to the Wisconsin
Province of Jesuits.
