Summary: Indian swimmer who had lost both his legs in a train mishap at the age of ten and went on to become a worldwide phenomenon as the first and only double-amputee Indian swimmer to successfully cross the English Channel in 1997, and who was also the world's first physically handicapped swimmer to swim across the Strait of Gibraltar in 2001 when he achieve this feat in just about four hours and twenty minutes.
