Summary: Catholic peace activist who was arrested frequently for protesting the Vietnam War and other conflicts like his better-known brothers Philip (d. 2002) and Daniel Berrigan, but who was a quieter version of his brothers (Philip was a former Josephite priest and Daniel was a Jesuit priest and author) because the two of them became international anti-war figures after they participated in the burning of Selective Service draft records in Catonsville, Maryland on May 17, 1968 and who later joined his brothers in other protests against nuclear proliferation, both wars in Iraq, and other causes.
