Summary: British progeria campaigner and activist who became known as the 100-year-old teenager through her efforts to raise awareness of progeria when she was diagnosed at two years old in 1999 with the extremely rare genetic condition which made her body age eight times faster than the average person, but who was part of a pioneering drug trial in the U.S. that had seen her surpass doctors' predictions of her projected lifespan even though the average life expectancy for sufferers of the condition is 13 years.
