Nigerian veteran journalist and civil rights activist who was the first female editor from the northern part of Nigeria working as a columnist for the Daily Trust and LEADERSHIP newspapers and several local editions in Kano and Kaduna states after she pursued a successful career in journalism in Nigeria in the early 1980's, and who is also a founding member of several non-governmental organizations including Women In Nigeria (WIN), the Federation of Muslim Women's Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), and AdvocacyNigeria, where she is the executive director.




Cause of Death: Crushed to death during the Hajj stampede
