Dr. Marvin Stone


Age: 65

regents emeritus professor of biosystems and agricultural engineering at Oklahoma State University who along with two other OSU professors invented a device called the GreenSeeker, a sensor that helped assist with precision agriculture utilizing an NDVI sensor to apply sensible amounts of nitrogen, in the early 2000s and received numerous awards including OSU's highest faculty honor Eminent Faculty Award during his exemplary service as a professor and researcher in the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering for 24 years, but who retired in 2006 starting the Marvin and Bonnie Stone Endowed Scholarship Fund with his wife the following year and was also honored for innovations in his field in the development and design of automatic controls and sensor systems at a U.S. Congressional reception in Washington, D.C. earlier this year.
