Summary: Indian women's rights crusader and director of the Delhi-based non-governmental organization Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), which she and her husband Dr. Rajesh Tandon founded in 1982 to promote citizens' participation in democratic government who had also worked in India and abroad in the fields of education, research and policy advocacy, especially on gender and women's rights in a professional career lasting more than 30 years, and who had recently been on an official assignment in Kabul, Afghanistan to train staff from the Aga Khan Foundation earlier this year.
