Summary:
Nigerian jurist and brother of former Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman Attahiru Jega who had served as the presiding judge of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal and was considered as one of the most senior serving justice to succeed the incumbent Court of Appeal president Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa whose last assignments was his judgement which affirmed the verdict of the state Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal that upheld the declaration of Akinwunmi Ambode as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election, but who had in his lead judgement aligned with the July 1, 2015 decision of the justice Muhammad Sijaro-led tribunal which declared as incompetent and therefore struck out the petition by the second runner-up in the election of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Jimi Agbaje.




Cause of Death: Crushed to death during the Hajj stampede
