William Clay Ford, Sr.
Summary: the last surviving grandchild of automotive pioneer Henry Ford who was overshadowed by his older brother, longtime Ford chairman Henry Ford II (d. 1987) before he settled for vice chairman (his son William Ford, Jr. is now executive chairman of Ford Motor Co.), but who had paid $6 million for the Detroit Lions in 1964, in which the franchise is now worth $900 million.
