V. Gnanathurai Nagarajah
Summary: Malaysian economist and country director of the Manila-based Asian Development Bank for its Afghanistan Resident Mission from 2003 to 2005 who was primarily responsible for implementing projects in the roads, irrigation, education and health sectors worth more than $500 million during his tenure, but who had recently worked for the U.K.-funded Afghan Budget Project in the Ministry of Finance as a senior budget policy and reform advisor in the Office of Director General in the South Asian Department for the leading economic advice consultancy firm Adam Smith International which covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indian, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
