Summary: fire captain with the Campbellsville Fire Department in central Kentucky who had been reportedly hospitalized in critical condition for nearly a month from high-voltage electric shocks he received in a freak accident during an "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge" student fundraising event on August 21, 2014 while he and another firefighter were on the fire truck's ladder when it got too close to a power line after dumping water on Campbellsville University's marching band in the charity stunt to raise awareness for the disease ALS, in which the second firefighter Simon Quinn was also seriously wounded and later recovered after the incident but no students were injured.
