Summary: French aviator and vice president of the internationally recognized pilot training organization Association of Professional Pilots Antilles-Guyana (APPAG) based in the French Caribbean island of Martinique
who was among one of more than 162 passengers and crew members reported missing and presumed dead aboard on the ill-fated Singapore-bound AirAsia Flight 8501 passenger jet when the single-aisle, twin-engine jetliner reportedly lost contact with air traffic control on ground due to bad weather and went missing while flying over the Java Sea after taking off from a provincial city in Indonesia for Singapore's Changi International Airport, in which debris from the plane and several human remains were found two days after the crash in the Karimata Straight during the ongoing search-and-rescue operations in progress of the recovery effort under the guidance of the aviation safety organization Civil Aviation Authority of Indonesia (CAA) and it became the third high-profile Malaysia-linked airline incident for south-east Asia this year.
