Summary: Indian freedom fighter, political activist and atheist leader who had played a major role for her involvement in the 1930 Salt March along with fellow Indian freedom fighter Durgabai Deshmukh and spent three years in prison as she created a commotion by hoisting the Indian National Flag which she had managed to make on her own and hoisted it atop a tree (this was in response to iconic Indian independence leader Mahatma Gandhi's slogan of "Purna Swaraj").
