who was among one of 18 passengers reported missing and presumed dead in the deadly December 28 MS Norman Atlantic ferry disaster when the Italian-flagged roll-on/roll-off passenger ferry carrying 222 vehicles and approximately 499 people including 12 crew members on board had reportedly caught fire on the car deck of the vessel while sailing about 44 nautical miles (81 km) near the Greek island Corfu across the Strait of Otranto in the Adriatic Sea as the multi-deck car-and-truck ferry was traveling en route from Greece to a harbour in Ancona, Italy after an intermediate stop, in which at least 13 people including two Albanian salvage crew members are known to have died in the incident and more than 400 others had been forced to evacuate within 24 hours off the blaze-hit boat during an international rescue operation conducted by the Italian Coast Guard in stormy seas, but the cause of the onboard fire remains unknown.
