Summary: Dutch coloratura soprano opera singer considered as one of the Netherlands' greatest opera singers who had made her breakthrough in 1963 as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Dutch National Opera and also sang with all the leading tenors of her time, including Carlo Bergonzi, Jose Carreras, Franco Corelli, Placido Domingo, Nicolai Gedda, Alfredo Klaus, Luciano Pavarotti, and Richard Tucker, and whose stage career ended in 1986 when she she suffered a heart attack but she continued to give master classes internationally.
