Summary: former first lady of Mississippi who led efforts to resort the Governor's Mansion when her husband Bill Waller (d. 2011) was in office as governor from 1972 to 1976 while serving as a Democrat but later campaigning for Republicans, and who along with University of Mississippi historian David Sansing co-wrote The History of the Mississippi Governor's Mansion, which helped to raise money to restore the badly deteriorated structure and to add formal gardens around the home that had first opened in 1842, but who had lived in the mansion only a few months after it re-opened following the $2.7 million restoration.
