Robert L. Pugh
Summary: retired diplomat and Foreign Service Officer who served as U.S. Ambassador to Mauritania from 1985 until 1988 when he was nominated by President Ronald Reagan to serve as the United States Ambassador to Chad (he served in that capacity until 1990), and whose first wife Bonnie Pugh was killed on September 19, 1989 by a terrorist bomb aboard UTA Flight 772 while flying from Chad to Paris.
