Summary: backup singer and vocalist who had worked for Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin when she joined the all-female soul group Sweet Inspirations as a replacement for Whitney Houston's mother Cissy Houston in 1969 and helped the King of Rock 'n' Roll give his live shows a gospel sound by performing with the band, which he also recorded with in the late 1960's and 1970's, but who mysteriously left the group shortly thereafter and recently appeared in the documentary film Elvis: That's The Way It is.
