Summary: South African competitive swimmer who became the youngest person to break a sporting world record in any discipline at the age of 12 years when she swam the 110 yards backstroke in 1 minute and 08.7 seconds at the ASA National Junior Championships in Blackpool, England in 1965, but who was never able to participate in an Olympic Games due to the sporting boycott of South Africa during her active career.
