Summary: Dutch Olympic field hockey champion who was part of the gold medal-winning Olympic team at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California and became the first goalkeeper in women's field hockey to wear a mask, but who had retired from the sport at the end of Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea in September 1988 after winning the bronze medal by beating Great Britain 3-1 to clinch the medal.
