Summary: Ukiah, California businesswoman who was among one of 33 survivors of the Jonestown massacre that killed nearly 900 members of People's Temple at its overseas jungle plantation during a mass murder-suicide ritual led by religious cult leader Rev. Jim Jones on Nov. 18, 1978 when she left the cult compound with her family as an 18-year-old in the company of Congressman Leo Ryan and several members of his party after visiting the People's Temple commune at Jonestown in Guyana and whose mother Patricia Parks was the only member of Peoples Temple who was killed in the airport attack after being shot to death by Jones loyalists at the Port Kaituma airstrip while her family was attempting to escape from the cult commune alongside with the Ryan delegation.
