Summary: activist and law professor at Chapman University in Orange, California who was hailed as a champion of gay rights and equality when she became a founding member of the advocacy organization Orange County Equality Coalition after the creation of Proposition 8, and who also served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, where she prosecuted public corruption, violent gangs and narcotics cases before joining the faculty full time at Champan in 2000.
