Summary: Haitian-Canadian longtime women's rights advocate and wife of noted University of Quebec geography professor Georges Anglade who along with her husband were among one of more than thousands of people reported missing and presumed dead following the catastrophic 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti that killed approximately 316,000 people and injured more than 250,000 others during a series of severe aftershocks, which caused major damages to at least 30,000 commercial buildings and destroyed much of the Caribbean island's infrastructure region becoming one of the most powerful earthquakes to strike the country in 200 years.
