Summary: Uruguayan veteran U.N. peacekeeper and military officer from the Uruguayan Armed Forces deployed on a U.N. peacekeeping mission with the United Nations Stabilisation Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) who was among one of more than three Uruguayan foreigners reported missing and presumed dead following the catastrophic 7.0magnitude earthquake in Haiti that killed approximately 316,000 people and injured over 250,000 others during a series of severe aftershocks, which caused major damages to at least 30,000 commercial buildings and destroyed much of the Caribbean island's infrastructure region becoming one of the most powerful earthquakes to strike the city in 200 years.
