Eustacio C. Bermudez, Jr.
U.N. peacekeeper who was among one of many survivors of the 1990 Luzon
earthquake that killed 1,621 people when one of the country's strongest
earthquakes destroyed the seven-story building of the Christian College
of the Philippines in Cabanatuan City where he was a student at the
time but was rescued after being trapped under the collapsed builing
with 300 other students for several hours, and who was recently
deployed to the UN Stabilisation Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) as a
member of the 10th Philippine Peacekeeping Contingent, where he
previously worked as a clerk in the Conduct and Discipline Unit.
