Infantry from Brazil serving with the United Nations Stabilisation
Mission in Haiti (MINUSTAH) who was among one more than 150 Brazilian
foreigners reported missing and presumed dead following the
catastrophic 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Haiti that killed
approximately 316,000 people and injured over 250,000 others during a
series of severe aftershocks, which caused major damages to at least
30,000 commercial buildings and destroyed much of the Caribbean
island's infrastructure region becoming one of the most powerful
earthquakes to strike the country in 200 years.
