Summary: German-born convicted bank robber and murderer who along with his brother Karl LaGrand (who had been executed by lethal injection earlier this year) were sentenced to death for their role in the murder of 63-year-old bank manager Kenneth Hartsock and the attempted murder of a female employee during an armed robbery at the Valley National Bank in Tucson, Arizona in 1982, in which the LaGrand brothers became the first German nationals to have been executed in the U.S. since World War II.
