Summary: British labourer and avid supporter of Liverpool F.C. who had been in a condition known as persistent vegetative state (PVS), described by experts as "awake but not aware", since he was crushed and his brain deprived of oxygen as a direct result of injuries he has received in the Hillsborough disaster which caught hundreds of soccer fans behind fences at Sheffield Wednesday's football ground during the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in April 1989, who was at the center of Britain's first right-to-die case after five law lords made the historic judgment that doctors could legally end his life by removing the feeding tube which had kept him alive.

 

 

Cause of Death: Kidney failure and bronchopneumonia due to anoxic brain damage caused by traumatic asphyxia
