Summary: Russian immigrant and logger employed with the forest products company Weyerhauser Co. in Oregon who had been hospitalized in critical condition for more than a week from severe burns suffered in the May 18 Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption that had killed at least more than 55 people including fellow crewmate Evlanty Sharipoff during the massive volcanic mudslide across the state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest region while he was thinning trees in the woods on a ridge between Hoffstadt Creek and the North Fork of the Toutle River near the site of the active volcano.
