Lady Muriel MacLean
Summary: wife of Scottish Conservative Party president and chairman Sir Donald MacLean who had been hospitalized in critical condition for nearly five weeks after being gravely injured in the October 12 Grand Hotel bombing by the IRA during an apparent assassination attempt against British prime minister Margaret Thatcher as she and her cabinet members were staying at the hotel for the Conservative Party conference, in which the explosion killed at least four people and seriously wounded more than 30 others including her husband.
