Summary: French physicist and government scientist who was one of the last two remaining passengers and crew members reported missing and feared dead in the fiery crash of TWA Flight 800 when the ill-fated Boeing 747 jumbo jet mysteriously exploded in mid-air and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the southeast coast of Long Island, New York shortly after takeoff from New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport, killing all 230 people aboard while he was returning to his home to France after visiting his wife's family in Shaler, Pennsylvania.
