Summary: French alpine skier and member of the Swiss Alpine Club in Bern, Switzerland who was among one of 230 passengers and crew members reported missing and feared dead in the fiery crash of TWA Flight 800 when the ill-fated Boeing 747 jumbo jet mysteriously exploded in mid-air and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off the southeastern coast of Long Island, New York shortly after takeoff from New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport while he and his female companion Carine Straus were headed back to France on a ski touring route in the Swiss Alps opening in the fall.
