Entry: the segment of society made up of those who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender(ed). The term "GLB" was in common usage in the 1980's, and GLBT became common in the 1990's. Variations include "BLGT" (in alphabetical order), LGBT (ladies first), "GLBTS", with the S meaning sensitive or supportive, and GLBTI, with the I meaning intersexed. Other variations and transpositions are in use.
